With Thena Ayres and Edith Vilamajó

Aim: to develop university staff workers in their training in evangelism in a workshop setting.

Format:

The workshop will include:

- time for trainers to reflect on their present evangelism training in their context

- opportunity for trainers to interact with one another through conversation, practical interaction and feedback in oder to improve their practise

We will be aiming to meet three times in the next 2 years:

- 1st meeting: training students (28 - 31 March, Rotterdam, the Netherlands)

- 2nd meeting: identifying training needs and designing training curriculums

- 3rd meeting: training trainers

There will be some preparation between meetings.

Content for first gathering:

- the Word and evangelism: "walking with Jesus", devotional around a gospel passage

- the staff trainer and evangelism: questionnaire for reflection and sharing

- the students and evangelism - practice and feedback space

Preparation for the first meeting:

Each staff trainer will be expected to

- bring a presentation of a 45 minute seminar, teaching class etc that they have used to train students in evangelism

- read the book "Teaching to Change Lives: Seven Proven Ways to Make Your Teaching Come Alive", Howard G Hendricks
